Why

I wanted a simple way to post markdown posts via Github. Initially I tried building my own React app with server side rendering. Failed. Not miserably. But definitely not successful.

Having looked around at various options, I eventually discovered jamstacks (bit late I know). I tried Gatsby and Next.js and Vue.js and I couldn’t get to grips with them. I’d also tried Hugo and didn’t intially get on with it, proceeding to going back to try and get my React app working.

Primarily, the theming drove my retry of Hugo, and after playing about with various themes that didn’t quite do what I wanted, but were pretty close, I perservered and finally got something working I wanted. And here we are.
